For each course you will need different equipment. Check our recommended kit lists by clicking on the relevant course area on the left. We can hire some technical equipment to clients for a small fee.
The basic idea of putting your kit together is to keep the weight down and thus the enjoyment level up! A lighter sack means that you can move faster and use less energy. Some kit is used all the time and is essential, such as a waterproof and should always be put in the sack. Other things can be minimized and their appropriateness thought about. Do you really need half a kilo of sun cream on a cloudy wet day?
As your Guide I will have some emergency equipment in my sack but it is a good idea to start to include your own if you have it. I carry a mountain first aid kit, a 4 person bothy bag, a spare synthetic warmth layer and spare hat and gloves. I usually also carry a mobile phone in a waterproof cover.
